![]() AUSTRALIAN POULTRY STANDARDS SECOND EDITION Dear Fanciers, Many fanciers and poultry clubs have expressed an interest in sponsoring illustrations in the second edition. Sponsorship of illustrations will enable the inclusion of a very wide range of high quality artwork that could otherwise be too expensive to include in a book with such a small print run. As well, sponsorship will give clubs and individuals the opportunity to record for posterity their involvement in, and support for, the poultry fancy by having their name in print in the second edition of the Australian Poultry Standards. A feature of the Australian Poultry Standards is a concerted attempt to involve as many as possible in the development of the second edition. Sponsorship is another way in which you can register your involvement. As in Australian Poultry Standards edition one, sponsorship fees will cover the cost of computer scanning, digital enhancement where required and four colour printing. It is anticipated the second edition will be similar in size to edition one, so the size of the illustrations will be approximately as follows (size of illustrations will vary somewhat depending on the specifications of the originals.) ½ page colour illustration approximately 16cm x 10cm. Full colour sponsorship $170. ¼ page illustration approximately 8.5cm x 7 cm. Full colour sponsorship $90 Half tone/ black and white photographs and illustrations will cost $45 for a quarter page and $85 for a half page. Captions under each illustration will be printed as follows. Silver laced Sponsor: Geebung Poultry Club Inc. Sponsor John & Betty Citizen On the application form please list in order your preferences for the breeds/varieties you would like to sponsor. Actual illustrations to be included are yet to be approved by the panel of interstate representatives. We ask you to sponsor for the half page colour illustration ($170). Should there be no sponsorship made available to you, or a smaller illustration be included, you will be refunded the difference in cost. Please make your preferences clear on the application form. In the event of a number of applications being sought for a particular illustrations, the Australian Poultry Standards editorial committee will determine the outcome by drawing lots. Members of the Australian Poultry Standards editorial committee have disqualified themselves from applying for sponsorships. Editorial committee members shall only consider sponsoring should there be illustrations left with no sponsor after every application has been received and processed. Please note that applications forms MUST be accompanied with full payment by cheque of money order for $170 per illustration. (Absolutely no cash through the mail.) Kindly make cheques or money orders payable to "Australian Poultry Standards". Under no circumstances will any applications be received by telephone, fax or email.
